IMPHAL, July 30: A man was today fished out from Sagolband Sayang pukhri hours after he failed to surface while taking a dip at the pukhri this morning at around 11:30 am.
Sources have stated that the man identified as Mutum Lekhendra alias Khokhoi, 65 of Sagolband Thangjam leirak failed to surface after taking a dip while returning from a funeral of his uncle. Sensing the danger for his life the local called the fire brigade team.
The team with assistance from the local search for his body but was unable to find the body.
After a deliberate attempt to churn out his body failed, the locals later called some Muslim quacks who fished out the dead body today at around 1:30 pm.
