Non-judicial stamps sold at high price: AMSU

IMPHAL, July 25: The ten-rupee non-judicial stamp required by the students for applying various scholarships has been sold at Rs. 150-300 by one supervisor of Manipur Minorities and Other Backward Classes Economic Development Society (MOBEDS).

Addressing media persons today, the general secretary of AMSU, Md Abdullah Shah stated that one supervisor, identified as Md Tajuddin is selling the ten-rupee non-judicial stamp at a much higher price of Rs. 150-300 to the students who are applying for pre and post matric scholarships under the MOBC department.

The stamps sold by Tajuddin also bear the signatures of oath commissioner of Imphal West, Y Sanatomba and advocate Md Selaur Rahman along with their seals, he said.

The general secretary demanded the law department to take punitive action against those persons involved in hiking the price of non-judicial stamps.
