IMPHAL, July 21: Decrying the attack carried out by some unidentified gunmen at the residence of social worker MI Khan in the wee hours today, the residents of Keirao Makting Makha Leikai held a sit-in-protest demonstration under the aegis of Election Committee for MI Khan today.
The general secretary of election committee, Th Nabakumar stated that the attack on social worker MI Khan is condemnable and further appealed to all concerned to avoid such untoward incident in the future.
The committee further stated that it will always support MI Khan in the upcoming general election.
At the same time, MI decried the inaction of the police towards his security despite a court’s directive to the DGP to give him security escorts.
MI Khan has maintained that he had joined the mainstream with the sole objective of serving the people of the state.
