`Proper training and guidance inevitable in entrepreneurial set up`

IMPHAL July 7: Under the sponsorship of Khadi and Village Industries commission, Mumbai, the Institute of Cooperative Management, Imphal has organized a 10 days entrepreneurship development programme for PMEGP beneficiaries starting from June 27. 

A valedictory function was held today for the participants of the 10 days training programme at the conference hall of the Institute situated at cooperative complex in Lamphelpat, Imphal.

Altogether 41 participants from different districts of the state were awarded with certificates during the function. N. Samananda Singh, IPS, additional director general of police, govt of Manipur, Kh Borkeshwor Singh, chairman ICM, Imphal, Th. Baite, director MSME –Developmental Institute, Imphal and Kh. Somorendro Singh, director ICM, Imphal had graced today’s function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively. The 10 days entrepreneur development programme for PMEGP beneficiaries is the 2nd batch for the 5th phase.

The Institute of Cooperative Management chairman, Kh Borkeshwor while giving his speech as the chief guest opined that proper training and guidance is inevitable in any entrepreneurial set up for effective management. Due to ill-equipped managerial activities several establishments have failed to strive further thereby arising various problems. One such recurring problem in the state is non- repayment of bank loan by beneficiaries.

With main objectives to develop human resources for ensuring efficient management in cooperative, government departments and organization and private enterprise, the Institute of cooperative management (ICM) was established in Imphal in 1988 and is one of the nineteen such institutes in the country.
