IMPHAL, July 10: A speeding van coming from Churachandpur hit a bicycle at Maibam Chingmang of Bishnupur district of Manipur today at around 11:30 am.
The bicycle rider, who is yet to be identified has been rushed to the Bishnupur district hospital.
Seven persons were riding on the van bearing registration No. MN-05A-0527 and was on its way to Nambol.
According to the locals of the area no one saw the accident however; they came out on hearing the screeching sound of a vehicle applying its brakes and another subsequent loud noise.
According to a woman traveling in the van the man remain motionless on the ground after being hit by the van.
She further added that her other companions had managed to take the injured cyclist to the hospital.
Meanwhile even though the exact identity of the cyclist is yet to be ascertained, the locals has said that his face seem to be acquainted and could be from the nearby villages.
The locals further maintained that they have informed the police, however they have failed to arrive till the filing of this report.
