IMPHAL, July 13: The current SPF regime led by the Congress has blatantly undermined the interest of the people for long and now it has become a necessity to file a charge sheet for their anti-people activities.
This statement was made by Ram Laya, national BJP general secretary, during a one-day leadership meet of state BJP at its office at Nityaipat Chuthek.
Laya suggested that a charge sheet should be filed against the SPF government and urged the BJP workers to collect each and every anti-people policy taken up during their administration while elaborately mentioning their misdeeds in detail.
He further ridiculed Chief Minister Okram Ibobi for promoting his relatives in the state politics stating that the Congress party has become a one family oriented party at both the national level and here in Manipur.
Every person is aware that the entire administration of the Congress party at the national level is run under the dictate of the Gandhis. Chief minister Ibobi is encouraging the same style of functioning in the state by promoting his relatives, including his wife, he added.
On the other hand, Laya described the BJP as a political party which truly believes in democracy.
He stated that BJP has started its preparation for the next state assembly elections, mentioning that Manipur is another north-eastern state besides Assam and Arunachal Pradesh where the party expects to fare well in the electoral fights.
Vice-president of state BJP S Ibohal criticized the state government for its failure to curb corruption, deterioration in law and order situation and hiking of prices of essential commodities. His compatriot with the same rank in the party S Tikendra asserted that most of the developmental works taken up by the SPF government has ultimately turned out to be complete failure. In the prevailing conditions, the people of the state, specially the youths, need to retrospect and figure out what sort of welfare measures for the common people the government ha actually delivered, he added.
The leadership training camp was attended by about 200 youths and volunteers of state BJP.
