State seeks re-allocation of SPA funds to expedite projects

IMPHAL, July 17: The state government has sought re-allocation of  fund amounting to Rs 7895.10 lakh available under the SPA, 2010-11 from the centre so as to help expedite the progress of various projects implemented in the state under SPA.

According to a reliable official source, the total balance comprises of ten percent of the grant of Rs 64561 lakh for the projects undertaken in the state under the SPA and another Rs.1439 lakh balance which is yet to be sanctioned by the centre.

According to the source this will be the second time that the state planning department  has reminded the Planning Commission of India for re-allocation of the balance fund available under SPA 2010-11.

The official source has further mentioned that, the official reminder of the state planning department was made keeping in view the early completion of projects with direct impact on the people of the state, balance investment across the state and also according to observations made by member (NE), Planning Commission during his visit to state capital last year in October.

The officially mentioned balance amount of Rs.7895.10 lahk is re-allocated among the ongoing projects including construction of capitol project amounting Rs.2000 lakhs, construction of mini secretariat building Rs.2000 lakhs, construction of guest house amounting Rs.260 lakhs,  construction of 132 KV S/C lines from Yurembam to Yainngangpokpi 132/33 KV S/S amounting to Rs.300 lakhs

It is further allocated  among the projects of conservation & management of Loktak Lake amounting Rs.1456 lakhs, installation of 132/33 KV S/S at Ukhrul and its associated areas and the construction of police housing/buildings and VDF outposts buildings amounting additional fund of Rs.879 lakhs the official source added.
