Thanga meritorious students feted

IMPHAL, July 10: A felicitation ceremony of rank holders and first class holders of class X and XII, 2011 taken by the CBSE, BOSEM and COHSEM was held today at the Thanga High School, Thanga.

The ceremony which was organized by the All Manipur Thanga People’s Welfare Association also feted newly promoted MPS officers (grade-I) of the Thanga constituency. The main objective of the programme was to praise the merit surge of the students of the area.

The programme started at around 12 this afternoon with the lighting of the inaugural light by chief guest of the programme MLA T Mangibabu Singh.

All Manipur Thanga people’s welfare association’s (AMTPWA) president N. Chaoba, ex MLA H. Kanjamba and S. Ibohal were the president and the guests of honour respectively, while col N Bhadwaj, commandant 33 AR joined the programme later on.

Around 75 students and two MPS officers were feted during the function. Shidratha Tongbram, Rabina and Salam Jashida who stood eight, tenth and the 22nd position in the recent HSLC 2011 examination conducted by BOSEM and Robert Oinam who stood 17th in the HSSLC exam conducted by the COSHEM were among the feted students in today’s programme.

Speaking at the function, AMTPWA president N Chaoaba maintained that the achievements of the students of the area in this year’s HSLC and HSSLC examinations are rare in the area. He further expressed his profound happiness in the achievements of the students.

He further informed that ordinary villagers of the area have today produced high ranking officials and law enforcers who are part and parcel of the government administration in the state.

Further speaking at the function he maintained that taking the examples of the students who were feted during the programme today, the parents of the region should encourage their wards towards education and has further informed the students to aim high and become achievers in their lives.

Speaking at the function local MLA T Mangibabu while expressing his happiness over the high pass percentage of students of the region in the recent class X and XII examinations, also maintained that various development programmes for the constituency are in the pipeline.

The MLA also expressed his strong consideration for the improvement of the roads of the area.
