IMPHAL, July 6: The Martin Grammar English School of Kakching, Thoubal defeated NE English School, Imphal East by 2-0 goals in today’s first match of the state level Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament being held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
In the first match of the day, Sushilkumar and Chinglen scored the two goals for the Kakching school in the 21st and 48th minute respectively and wind up the match with the same scoreline.
In the second match of the day, Henglep Govt. High School defeated Maram Govt. high school by 6-0.
Phungthalian, Jesse Nganglenmang, Solomon and Henmeikam scored one goal each for the Henglep school while Thonggoulun scored two goals for the team.
In the third match, Nilamani English School, Mayang Imphal defeated Preparatory Sainik high school, Kangpokpi by 6-0 goals.
Th Chingkheinganba scored three goals for the Mayang Imphal school while L Bedeshwor, L Priyokumar and L Roshan scored one goal each for the team.
