IMPHAL, July 16: Security forces have claimed to have arrested four militants during separate counter insurgency operations in the state during the last two days.
According to a PIB statement, 4/8 Gorkha Rifles apprehended a ZUP cadre during an anti-insurgency drive from Nungaon, Bishnupur Bishnupur today. It has identified the arrested militant as s/s pvt Amoba alias Dayangmei, s/o Kadonganpao, 38 resident of Nungaon, Bishnupur.
Further according to the statement, 11 12-bore live cartridges one Chinese mobile with Aircel SIM were recovered from the arrested militant. The recovered items alongwith the arrested militant has been handed over to the Bishnupur police station.
Meanwhile, on July 15 a combined team of cdo, Imphal east and west arrested a KCP cadre identified as Thounaojam Jineshwor Singh alias Bomcha, 37, s/s Th Ngouba Singh of Langmeidong Makha Leikai from Lamlong Bazar and recovered a Chinese made mobile phone with Aircel SIM and a sum of Rs. 35 000 from his possession.
According to a release of the Imphal east SP, on verification the individual disclosed that he joined the KCP in the month of August 2010 through one Amar of Langmeidong and is now working under the command of one Rahul alias Leitat of Moreh side.
Further according to the release, on the same day at about 1:30pm a KCP lady cadre identified as Oinam Chanchan alias Mona, 26, d/o O Subhash Singh of Uripok Khoishnam leikai was arrested from the JNIMS crossing.
On further verification she disclosed that on the advice of one Rahul of Moreh, she was going to collect a sum of Rs 35000 from Jineshwor who was arrested earlier on the same day from Lamlong Bazar. She also disclosed that she is currently working under Rahul Singh of the party since February 2009.
Meanwhile in yet another incident, a combined team of cdo Imphal east and 28 Assam Rifles arrested a PULF cadre at about 2:00 pm of the same dayfrom Keirao area.
According to the same release of the Imphal east SP, the PULF cadre has been identified as Md Anis alias Juma Khan, 23, s/o Md Mufijuddin of Keirao Mayai Leikai.
On verification, he disclosed that he joined PULF in the month of April 2009 though one Md Sahid of Boroyangbi and had been arrested twice before by the AR, added the release.
According to the release, he also disclosed that he was also involved in extortion of money from the general public of Keirao with his associate Md ibonaha of the same area and had provided shelter to PULF cadres.
He was also involved in transportation of arms and ammunition for the outfit, added the release.
