IMPHAL, July 20: A meeting of the Zeliangrong community of Cachar valley was held at Meherpur on July 17 morning under the aegis of Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) which has strongly condemned the merciless killing of one Babul Rongmei who was reportedly shot death by unknown assailant last month.
A statement issued by the ZU (AMN) has stated that the meeting had also adopted many resolutions such as not to tolerate any killing or assassination by the people of the area under any circumstances.
Taking serious note of the incident, the meeting also resolved to form a committee “Joint Action and Peace Committee Barak valley”. It said the meet concluded with the decision of demanding ex-gratia and die in harness to the state government concerned and bring justice at the earliest.
