IMPHAL, Aug 23: Amidst boiling situation persisting due to demand of districthoods and subsequent opposition against bifurcation of land, yet a committee under the name ‘Tongjei Marin District Demand Committee’ has surfaced demanding creation of so called “Tongjei Marin District” to be carved out of Tamenglong, Senapati and Churachandpur districts.
The committee in a statement singed by its chairman, Abon Kamei, informed that an Agangmei-Areas public meeting was held on August 22 at Langol with regards to the creation of the said district.
It said that the meet resolved to submit reminder memorandum to the government of Manipur for the creation of “Tongjei Marin District” besides resolving to launch movement for the realization of the new establishment.
