Assembly session extended till Aug 29

IMPHAL, Aug 20: The number of days for the 11th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly which will begin on August 26has been extended till August 29.

The decision of extension of the sitting of the ensuing state assembly session was taken during the meeting of Business Advisory Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly inside the office chamber of Speaker I Hemochandra at Manipur Legislative complex in presence of Chief minister O Ibobi Singh this afternoon at around 2 pm.

It may be mentioned that, BAC in its earlier meeting held on August 12 has already decided that the ensuing state assembly session will be start from August 24 till August 26 which is having only three days sittings, the another rescheduled meeting of BAb which convened this afternoon has again decided the ensuing state assembly session upto August 29 as a result there will be four days sitting.

In the meantime, during the ensuing state assembly session there will be presentation of one government, Bill ‘The Indian Stamp (Manipur 2nd amendment) bill, 2011, which was approved during the recently held state cabinet meeting on August 10, the official source added.
