CM apprehensive of any `hasty decision` on Sadar Hills

IMPHAL, August 12: The state Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh has today declared the Sadar Hills issue as a serious and prolong matter and that taking any hasty decision on such a chronic issue would not be a wise thing on the part of the state government.

The Chief Minister was responding to queries from media persons on the present Sadar Hills issue, at the end of inaugurating a seven days state level block organizers training camp at Congress Bhawan, Imphal today.

Further in his response, he further inferred that since Sadar Hills is home to various ethnic communities, any hasty decision cannot be taken considering the sensitivity of the issue.

He further appealed to the ADC members of the Sadar Hills to withdraw their decision to tender mass resignation. In may be added that the ADC members had decided to tender their mass resignation if the state government fail to fulfill the demands for a separate Sadar Hills district by August 15.

He also informed that it is no longer feasible for the trucks carrying essential commodities to ply along the National Highway 150 Jessami road and further added that the government in seriously discussing to upgrade National Highway 37 (NH-53) as an alternative route for the goods laden trucks.

The Chief Minister was attending the inauguration of the seven days state level block organizers training camp as the chief guest.

Speaking during the inaugural function, he highlighted the importance of the Seva Dal in the Congress party.

He asserted that the training camp will benefit the Seva Dals for developing their knowledge on various issues.

MPCC president, Gaikhangam stated that the Indian National Congress is the oldest political party in the country with well maintained discipline, integrity and is also a people friendly political party.

The camp which was attended by various congress MLAs, ministers and workers from different blocks, has prayed for the speedy recovery of the ailing AICC president, Sonia Gandhi.
