IMPHAL, Aug 4: The official visit of full team of Election Commission of India headed by Chief Election commissioner Dr. SY Quaraishi to review election preparations in the state has been re-scheduled to a one day visit according to an official intimation from the Election Commission of India this morning received by the state department concerned. The visiting team including the chief election commissioner Dr SY Quaraishi, two election commissioners of ECI identified as VS Samapth and HS Brahma and two other deputy election commissioners JP Prakash and Dr. Alok Shukla and director general (expenditure monitoring) of ECI PK Das will be arriving at the state capital tomorrow morning at about 11 am from the national capital by air.
The official source further mentioned that, the high level ECI team soon after their arrival will convene a review meeting with the district election officers/DCs at the main conference hall of Old secretariat Imphal at 12.30 pm tomorrow and will be followed by a meeting with the state chief secretary DS Poonia at the same Hall from 3 pm to 3.30 pm which will be followed by a press conference at the same venue at about 3.30 pm the source added.
The source further mentioned that the same team after interacting with the media, will leave from the Imphal Airport at about 5 pm by a special flight.
