Girls outshine boys at RMSA recruitment

IMPHAL, August 2: The results of RMSA graduate teacher recruitment was declared today after the Chief Minister of Manipur officially released the results sheet during a press conference held at his official bungalow this evening.

Speaking to media persons during the conference, the Chief Minister said that girl candidates have outshine boys by securing 356 seats against 147 (boys) of the total 503 selected.

He stated that the recruitment was purely conducted on merit based adding clearance has been given by the centre government for recruitment of 2700 post for SSA teachers under the Right to Education Act for primary teachers (10+2) and Upper primary teachers (graduate).   

A statement issued by Dr. J. Suresh Babu, commissioner education (s), has stated that the selection of the candidates have been based on 85 points score for their academic performance only and added that there has been no interview conducted.

He further pointed out that the total number of graduate teachers selected was 503 against 536 posts. As per the reservation policy for physically challenged category, about 12 candidates from physically challenged category are selected. About 33 posts could not be filled as there are no more eligible candidates, he asserted.

The Chief Minister, meanwhile, asserted that as per the policy all the candidates from reserved categories who have not availed relaxation of age, but within the general merit are included in the Un-reserved vacancies.    

Some candidates are qualified for selection in more than one post as they had applied for different posts. Such candidates are selected in one subject based on their subjects at degree level and honours or core or major subjects at degree level, further added the CM.

The analysis of the institutions, where the candidates studied indicates that 80 percent of the candidates selected have studied class X standard under the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. Similar situation is there in respects of class XII and degree, as more than 80 of the candidates studied under council for higher secondary Education and Manipur University, the official release said.

The waiting list is limited to 10 percent of the vacancies. The list of waiting list candidates is also notified along with the list of selected candidates, it said.

The original documents of all the selected candidates will be verified before issuing appointment orders. The dates for verification of documents will be notified very shortly. These documents will be sent to the boards or universities which granted the certificates for further confirmation. Even after appointment orders are issued if any document is found not genuine or fake criminal action will be initiated against the candidate concerned and their appointment will be cancelled, it stated.

The candidates who claimed OBC reservation should produce OBC certificates in original which should have been issued after April 30, 2010. The certificate should be less than 1 year old as on April 4, the statement further added.

The press conference was attended by IFCD minsiter, N. Biren, Education Minister, DD. Thaisii, MOBC minister, Md. Allaudin, DGP Manipur and commissioner education (s).
