Governor greets people on Janmastami

IMPHAL, August 21: The Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat, has greets the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmastami, 2001.

In his message the Governor said “lord Krishna incarnated in this world to retrieve it from the clutches of evil and create a new world order based on love, justice, equality and fair play. He is the embodiment of love that can be understood through love. Love begets love and hatred breeds hatred. Love is what the world needs today. His message of love, mercy, duty and sacrifice has become more and more relevant in this trouble torn world, when the atmosphere is vitiated with enmity and hatred. While celebrating this auspicious occasion and paying our veneration to Lord Krishna, we should try our best to foster love and reject hatred and also rededicate ourselves to the ideals, eternal values and the path of righteousness as espoused by him fro bringing about a peaceful and prosperous state”.

Meanwhile, Major General CA. Krishnan AVSM, IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles has extended warm greetings and since goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of “Janmasthami”, and also expressed that this festival herald an era of peace and prosperity in the region.
