Newmai News Network
DIMAPUR, Aug 3: The NSCN-IM has refuted to the allegation that the outfit was responsible for Monday blast at Sangapham in Imphal that had claimed five lives. It said the NSCN-IM will not accept any blanket allegation hurled against the outfit.

In a press communique issued in Dimapur this evening, the NSCN-IM said the outfit was never responsible for such act. “The fact that some groups in Manipur targeting innocent public in order to make their political statement has become a matter of grave concern. NSCN is never desperate to make its point through such acts, by targeting innocent persons. We will not accept any blanket allegation and we are also serious about such actions,” the press communique from the outfit`s Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) said.

“The reaction of the Manipur government and its chief minister Ibobi Singh is nothing but acts of impropriety and recklessness, considering their irrational opposition to peace and the ongoing political dialogue between the government of India and the NSCN,” the press note added.

“We regret the press reportage and passing of allegation against NSCN for acts of violence. As far as we are concerned it will make more political sense to focus on the issue at hand,” the NSCN-IM statement lamented.
