IMPHAL, Aug 12: The Imphal Municipal Council Elected Ward Development Committee Members Forum has suspended its agitation following assurances from the Chief Minister.
A release of the forum stated that the ward members of Imphal Municipal Council have decided to surrender their election certificates after the state government failed to grant the rights of being people’s representatives. However, the Chief Minister has assured the members that needful steps would be taken up shortly to fulfill their demands. Thereof, forum has suspended the agitations, it added.
