IMPHAL, Aug 26: The people of Yaingangpokpi under the aegis of Naga Sanaolong Yaingangpokpi area today staged sit-in-protest condemning the police brutality against woman and arrest of two persons.
Speaking to media persons, president of Naga Sanaolong, Thottreiphi stated the brutality of Manipur Police against a woman identified as Leisiwom is quite condemnable and the authorities concerned should take action against the accused police personnel.
The president also demanded the unconditional arrest of two persons identified as H Surrender and Chihansing who have been arrested by the police on charges of having links with UG outfits. The injured woman is still unable to make treatment and so the state government should provide assistance in her medical treatment, Thottreiphi demanded.
