Security forces nab five militants in separate incidents

IMPHAL, Aug 27: Troops of 33 Assam Rifles of Logtak Brigade under Red Shield Division apprehended two militants of KYKL from Wangu Parking, Thoubal district.  The arrested militants have been identified as s/s private Amom Sanjoy Singh (25), s/o Amom Lukhai Singh of WanguTerakhong Makhong and s/s private Takhelambam Ibochouba Singh (27), s/o Takhelam Amumacha Singh of Wangu Teramakha Leikai.  The apprehendees revealed their involvement in supplying arms, carrying out recruitment, tax collection and extortion for the outfit KYKL.  They were handed to Kumbi Police Station, stated a release of PRO PIB (Defence Wing).

In an another operation, troops of 10 Assam Rifles under the Red Shield Division along with 30 Assam Rifles apprehended one KYKL cadre from Lamlong Bazaar. The apprehendee has been identified as Kongbantabam Meitei Singh, 28, s/o Kh Rajinder Singh of Tiameiband Thingel. He was handed over to Porompat Police Station.

Meanwhile, Imphal West police commandos arrested one active member of KCP (Moramba Meitei) from BT Road near Ima Keithel Shaulav at 1:25 pm yesterday.

The apprehended cadre is identified as Konsam Gauramani alias Ibungomacha, 22, s/o K Kesho of Saraothel Mamang Leikai, stated a release of SSP Imphal West.

In another incident, one KYKL cadre was arrested by a combined team of Imphal West police commandos, CDO I/E, 30 AR and 10 AR from Lamlong Bazar yesterday. The arrested person is identified as Khongbantabam Netra Singh, 28, s/o (late) Rajendra of Thangmeiband Thingel.
