Three persons injured in accident

IMPHAL, Aug 12: Three women were injured when a truck hit a newly established pan shop at New Checkon, Tribal Colony Gate at around 4 pm today.

The injured women have been identified as Lhaineineng Haokip, 45, w/o Kaikholal Haokip of New Checkon, Lemneithem, 27, d/o Henkholal Doungel of Tribal Colony and Leirangton Hemam, 36, d/o (late) Lairenjao of Nongpok Sekmai Shikhong.

According to eye-witnesses, the accident occurred when a Shaktiman truck (bearing two different registration numbers MN-01 2373 and MN-02 6210) coming from Minuthong side suddenly hit the pan shop after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver fled after injuring the three women. Out of those three, Leirangton is the owner of the shop while the other two were customers.

All of them were admitted to the JNIMS, Porompat. The condition of Lhaineineng is said to be critical.
