IMPHAL August 2: According to a press release from the office of the superintending engineer, Transmission Circle, Electricity department government, a 5 MVA transformer installed and operated at Iroisemba sub-station is malfunctioning as a result from overloading. The release added that checking and replacement of some part may take a few days, hence power supply in the D.C. areas, Uripok, Lamphel, Sanakeithel and Langol areas may be disturbed for about 5/6 days till the proper functioning of the transformer. The release further added that the inconvenience caused to the public for not giving power supply is very much regretted.
