IMPHAL, August 5:The Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has strongly urge the state govt. to seek views and opinions of different communities residing in the Sadar Hills prior to taking concrete decision regarding the demand raised by Sadar Hills districthood demand committee.
A statement signed by its general secretary Thaingamlung Gangmei has stated that different communities live in the Sadar Hills since time immemorial and Zeliangrong people have more than 20 villages and situated contiguously in the Sadar Hills.
It has also stated that any immature decision taken by the govt. in this regard may create confusion and caused negative impact amongst the various communities residing in the Sadar Hills which may disturb the harmony and peaceful atmosphere in area.
The state govt. is appealed not to take any hasty decision for declaration of Sadar Hills but only after proper consultation with other communities for ensuring impartiality, security and safety and welfare of other communities living in Sadar Hills, it added.
The ZYF (AMN) will strongly oppose any immature decision which may disturb the peaceful atmosphere. The ZYF (AMN) also appealed the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee (SHDDC) to call off the ongoing General Strike in the larger interest of the people, it added.
