IMPHAL, Sept 4: At least 362 loaded trucks carrying various essential commodities reached Imphal today under heavy security arrangement.
The trucks were escorted from Jiribam on the NH-37 by a combined force of Manipur Rifles, IRB and police commandos besides the central paramilitary forces.
Meanwhile, a truck driver, identified as Rocky from Konung Mamang, was injured in a firing incident.
Secretary of Manipur Driver’ Union, M Anil appealed to the authorities concerned to prevent such untoward in the future.
Suspected blockade supporters also created trap holes on the national highway which disrupted the vehicular movement for some minutes.
