IMPHAL, Sept 12: The All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) while highlighting the suffering of the common people due to the prolonging economic blockade has appealed the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) and the United Naga Council (UNC) to reconsider their stance and lift their agitation.

AMCO president Prim Vaiphei said today that the section of people living from hand-to-mouth has been hit the hardest due to the ongoing economic blockade.

“With all humility the AMCO further appeals the SHDDC and the UNC that differences of any kind may please be resolved through dialogue in the spirit of Christ and the larger interest of humanity,” said the the AMCO chief.

Prim Vaiphei then said that AMCO would like to resound its message that every community irrespective of various ethnic groups living in the state and the government in particular to shun the path of violence, enmity, discrimination, prejudice, disrespect, injustice, irresponsibility, but to work and strive for peaceful co-existence, fraternity, equality, justice and integrity. “Devoid of these ethics we are afraid that our state will be in bleak situation,” the AMCO predicted while adding, “The AMCO`s daily prayer is that God the Almighty who rules all the affairs of humankind and the universe may grant wisdom and far-sightedness to our people in general and our leaders in particular that all may work for the common good for better and greater future in terms of fraternity, unity, peace and progress.”
