AMUCO appeals to lift blockade

IMPHAL, Sept 18: All Manipur United Clubs’ Organization (AMUCO) has appealed to the agitating bodies to lift the ongoing economic blockades along the national highways on humanitarian ground.

A release of AMUCO stated that the economic blockades have caused much suffering to the common people by depriving of essential commodities. The organizations should review their stances in the interest of the suffering people.

Moreover, the state government should take up effective measures to escort the vehicles during economic blockade. The burning down of several trucks during blockade is a clear indication of the inefficiency of security personnel who have been employed by spending crores of rupees, it said.

The AMUCO further appealed to the state government to bring an amicable solution to the present crisis as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Students Federation of India, Manipur State Committee also demanded the state government to resolve Sadar Hills crisis and lift economic blockade in the greater interest of the common people of the state.
