Arrested RPF man involved in 2010 non Manipuri killing informs SSP statement

IMPHAL September 21: Two active cadres of the proscribed PLA/RPF including one who was involved in the killing of a non Manipuri in the month of November 2010 at Keishampat area, have been arrested by Imphal west district commandos from separate incidents on September 19 claimed a statement of the SSP Imphal west.

The statement has stated that acting on credible information, Imphal west district police commandos arrested an active member of the PLA identified as s/s sgt Okram Manglemba alias Thoia Singh, 32, s/o O Ibopishak Singh of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Mamang Leikai at present staying at Thamnapokpi Sanasobi from his residence at 10:30 pm.

It has further stated that on spot verification, he disclosed that he is working under s/s lt Khelemba, division IV secy of the RPF/PLA and was involved in the killing of a non Manipuri in the month of November 2010 at Keishampat area.

He also informed that he alongwith six others were planning to celebrate the party’s Raising day on September 25 in and around Greater Imphal under the instruction of Khelemba.

Meanwhile, another active member of the party has been arrested from Khuman Lampak near 2nd IRB main gate on the same day at around 8:20 pm, the statement added.

It has further identified the arrested individual has been identified as Wakambam Somikanta alias Sanajaoba alias Lambu alias Rambo, 30, s/o (late) W Rajendro Singh of Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai.

On spot verification, he disclosed that he is working under one s/s sgt Thoiba of RPF/PLA since the last three years and was involved in the transportation of arms which was used in the killing of Mohan Shah on August 24, 2010 under the instruction of Thoiba, the statement added.
