IMPHAL, Sept 10: Discovering the transportation of wild life products and drugs, troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in general area Khudengthabi yesterday and recovered large consignment of assorted medicines and pangolin shells.
According to a release, the recovered items include Pseudo Ephedrine Luract-27 kgs, Mucoson-72 kgs,Coco-23 Kgs,Actifast- 69 kgs,Phenidril syrup-190 bottles,Pangolin shells-64 kgs and Identity card No.275 of HL Seikhohao Mate,VDF No.2010275,r/o Tegnoupal. The items were handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau, Imphal and Wild life Deparment.
In yet another incident, troops of 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in general area Awangkasom and recovered 2082 cans of illegal Beer alongwith two individuals from a TATA 307 bearing regd No. NL 08A 2646 on 09 Sep 11. The liquor transporters were identified as Mathoi Singh,19 yrs,driver,s/o Saruk Singh,r/o Matupur,Assam and Rafiq Ahmed,25 yrs,s/o Swalauddin,r/o Silchar,Assam. Both the apprehendees alongwith recovery was handed over to Ukhrul Police station the release added.
