IMPHAL, Sept 6: The national spokesperson of BJP, Prakash Javedkar will visit the state on September 9 to take stock of the volatile issues of the state pertaining to the demand for several new districts, especially of Sadar Hills because of which economic blockade has been imposed on the national highways thereby hampering the transportation of essential commodities to the state.

Addressing media persons at the head-office of BJP Manipur Pradesh today, state president Sh Shantikumar stated that the BJP is very much concerned with the prevailing issues of the state which the Congress-led SPF government has failed to bring out any amicable solution.

The national leaders of BJP would press the Centre to take up effective steps to resolve the present crisis relating to the demand for new districts, he averred.

The BJP wants promulgation of President’s Rule in the state as the government has failed in all aspects of administration. There is no meaning of having a defunct government. It is the aspiration of the people to have a strong and effective government in the state, Shantikumar asserted.

He further stated that Prakash Javedkar, who is also the election in-charge of Manipur, would have talks with like-minded political parties of the state to form a strong alliance to defeat the Congress-led SPF in the coming state assembly election.

Shantikumar also demanded the authorities concerned to disclose the whereabouts of GM Changjou saying that every person has the right to have free and fair trial in a democratic country like India. It is not legitimate to detain someone for so many days without disclosing his whereabouts, he added.
