BJP national leaders demand promulgation of PR in state

IMPHAL Sept 10: A top level team of Bharatiya Janta Party comprising of Prakash Javedkar, Rajya Sabha MP and national spokesperson, Tapir Gao, former MP of Lok Sabha and national general secretary and P Chandra Shekhar Rao, zonal organizing secretary, NE states have urged the Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat for the promulgation of President’s rule in the state in lieu t of the Congress led SPF government.

Addressing media persons at BJP, Manipur state headquarters’ at Nityaipat Chuthek, Prakash Javedkar stated that they have taken stock of the present scenario of the state after consultation with party officials here.

Accusing the SPF government of abject corruption and failure in all fronts including maintenance of law and order, he said that every commodity is available at the black market when public have been denied their right to avail the items, especially during the times of economic blockade. “It seems that Ibobi has put a different price tag to essential commodities and propagating the black marketers, this is a double failure of the government”, he said.

Javedkar maintained that the state government should ensure that necessary quantities of foodgrains and fuel should be made available to the public at a subsidized rate during times of blockade so that the public can mitigate their troubles.

Further, the state has been a hotbed of corruption and the ministers in the cabinet are all tainted. “We demand that the Lok Ayukta bill be passed in the next state assembly sittings, if the bill is passed then, there may be no ministers left to rule the roost in the SPF government as all are corrupted”. He accused minister Biren of tempering with the proof in regard to the killing of Irom Rozer and sending his son Ajay to Australia, he charged. He mentioned that if such was the case then the court should take cognizance and give proper judgment in the regard. The CBI should also conclude their investigation as a long time have occurred in their fact finding, it is time to charge sheet the culprit under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code,he said.

The spokesperson said that the BJP party commits itself to the wishes f the people and appealed to the civil organizations,communities, worker unions and those who re suffering at present to ensure that the SPF government is defeated in the next general elections.

The state BJP will organize a mass signature campaign against the price rice and lack of essential commodities in the state.
