CDSU suspends proposed general strike after recieving govt assurance

LAMKA, Sep 26: The Churachandpur District Students` Union , CDSU, and the Joint Philanthropic Organization, JPO, has temporarily suspended its proposed general strike from September 27 onwards after getting some positive development from the state government over the demands it had made to the government, stated a source from the secretary of the CDSU today.

The proposed strike has been overhauled for a period of one month duration, which will be a litmus test of the state government’s sincerity on its assurances as if there are no perceptible development and improvement of hospital condition and in other fields of infrastructures in the district, massive agitations are still in the offing, said Ginzawmsang today to IFP.

For the time being, the ban imposed by the CDSU upon the government employees from attending their offices as well as government programmes have been lifted, said the sources.

Apparently bowing to their demands, the government in order to fill and enhanced the number of staffs at the district hospital issued an order in the name of one Atehm Muivah Jt Secy , health & family welfare  today according to which, Dr Md Salamat Ullah MHS / grade-III surgeon from the Leprosy  hospital of Imphal has been transfer to the  Ccpur District hospital to work as surgeon.

A separate order issued today said that the state health department is considering for opening of casualty, accident and trauma centre at District Hospital Ccpur and in other district hospitals too and for the purpose has informed MPSC for requisition of Medical officer and dental surgeons numbering to 280 post.

It has further stated that once the recruitment process is over they shall be sent to all this new centres, while adding that as of now there have been acute shortages of medical officer in the state health department and no additional manpower could be provided till the propose recruitment process is over.
