CM apprises Governor on blockade issue

IMPHAL, Sep 15: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has briefed Governor Gurbachan Jagat on the action taken up by the state government to tackle the problems being faced by the people due to the ongoing economic blockades along the national highways of the state imposed by Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee and UNC for the demand and counter demand of Sadar Hills district.

According to a highly placed official source, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has called on Governor Gurbachan Jagat at Raj Bhavan this afternoon at around 3 pm and tabled the action taken report of the state government for solving the problems caused by the economic blockades along the national highways. The meeting ended around 4.30pm.

The official source further mentioned that Chief Minister was invited for holding discussion with the Governor to collect the official information as directed by the Union Home Minister in connection with the Sadar Hills issue.

It is also mentioned that Governor Gurbachan Jagat  will pass on the official report on action taken up by the state government to the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram at the National Capital soon as the Governor is leaving for Delhi tomorrow morning.
