Community hall inaugurated

IMPHAL Sept 11: MLA of Moirang Assembly constituency, M Prithviraj inaugurated a community hall at Moirangthem Leikai today. The hall was constructed under his Local Area Development Fund at a cost of nearly 3 lacs.

The inaugural function was attended by the Prithviraj as the chief guest and former MLA of the constituency Salam Gopal Singh as the president.The guest of honors included councilors of the ward ,Salam Jibonlata and Hemam Matum Singh and local senior citizens.

In his speech, Prithviraj said that Moirang A/C has the largest number of voters in the state and encompasses a vast area. He said that there are a total of 29 ‘Leikais’ and all have community halls except for Hemam Leikai and Konjengbam Leikai.The inaugural stones for hall construction in these localities will be laid at the earliest as it also was a wish of his late father M Manindra,he said.

The MLA also mentioned that as his tenure is short, there were several development schemes left wanting to be implemented. Despite constructions of Moirang Bazar and undertaking a water supply scheme to provide drinking water to the public among other schemes, he promised to urge the concerned authorities to institute a separate sub treasury at Moirang area so as pensioners can access their monthly salaries without hassles meanwhile announcing that all roads of his constituency will be black topped before the upcoming elections,he said. He later attended as a guest of honor at the rising day of 5/9 GR at Kwakta.
