Controversial primary teachers` DPC result finally announced

IMPHAL, Sept 4: The DPC result for the recruitment of primary teachers, Hindi primary teachers and Hindi graduate teachers conducted by education (S) department in 2006 has been declared officially today.

Speaking to media persons before the release of DPC results at the office complex of RMSA, Babupara this afternoon, principal secretary of education (S), Dr. J Suresh Babu stated the recruitment of primary teachers, Hindi primary teachers and Hindi graduate teachers was conducted in 2006. However, the DPC result which was leaked out in some local paper was not accepted by the state government and subsequently an inquiry committee has been set up to look into the issue.

Based on the recommendation of the inquiry committee, the state cabinet took a decision to constitute a review committee recently, he noted.

Dr Suresh further mentioned that the review committee headed by the director of education (S) submitted the list of recommended candidates on merit basis (including the marks secured in written test and viva-voce) following the procedure and guidelines relating to reservation policy. The committee has also examined the documents available, the data sheets prepared by the earlier DPC committee and prepared the list of selected candidates solely on merit basis, he added.

It is also mentioned that the total number of posts for primary teachers to be filled is 1423 which includes 712 posts for un-reserved, 178 posts for OBC (Meitei), 57 posts for OBC (Pangal), 7 posts for OBC (Others), 441 posts for ST and 28 posts for SC. The candidates from reserved categories who have marks to qualify in the un-reserved category without availing age relaxation are included in the un-reserved category. Out of 712 posts of un-reserved category, 151 candidates from reserve category are selected including 87 OBC candidates, 44 ST candidates and 20 ST candidates. The total candidates from un-reserved category selected are 561. The committee has also selected 29 candidates from physically challenged category and are placed in their respective categories as per the policy, he added.

For Hindi primary teacher posts, total number of posts is 203, including 103 for un-reserved, 25 posts for OBC (Meitei), 8 vacancies for OBC (Pangal), 62 posts for ST and 4 posts for SC. The DPC has recommended 182 candidates only as against 203 vacancies due to non-availability of candidates from ST and OBC (Pangal) categories. The DPC has recommended 103 candidates for un-reserved which includes 15 OBC candidates, 4 SC candidates and 1 ST candidate. Six candidates belonging to Physically challenged category are selected and recommedated in their respective categories. On the other hand for Hindi graduate teacher posts the total vacancies are 49 including 24 for un-reserved, sic posts for OBC (Meitei), two posts for OBC (Pangal), 17 posts for ST, besides all the 24 posts for un-reserved are filled by un-reserved candidates, one physically challenged candidate has been selected, besides the waiting list has been prepared to the extend of 10% of the vacancies and the names along with the roll numbers of the candidates in the waiting list of different posts were announced officially to the declared result sheets, he added.

Principal secretary, mentioning the recruitment of teachers under RMSA and procedure for posting, said that the state government has already notified the list of selected candidates for graduate teacher posts under RMSA. The process of verification of original documents will start from September 9 and will be completed in 4 or 5 days time. The schedule of dates and roll numbers of candidates for verification of documents will notified in another 2 or 3 days. All the candidates should submit all original documents for verification as per the scheduled. Offer forms for appointment will be issued at the time of verification and the candidates have to re-submit the offer forms immediately on that date.

The officer further mentioned that candidates belonging to OBC category should produce fresh OBC certificate which should have been issued after April 30, 2010. Old OBC certificates issued before April 30, 2010 will not be accepted, he added.

It is also mentioned that, the posting of the candidates to different schools will be done by conducting counselling. The list of vacancies and the schools will be notified in advance. Candidates have to appear personally to counselling centre for which schedule of dates will be announced separately. The candidates will be called based on merit list and will be allowed to select the school of their choice based on the vacancies, he added.
