Court of Inquiry begins

    IMPHAL, Sept 29: The Army Court of Inquiry against two officers of 43 Assam Rifles for their alleged role in the assault and molest of women protestors of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee has begun at the headquarters of IGAR (South), Mantripukhri today. However, the inquiry has been postponed to October 3 due to absence of the complainants which included the president and general secretary of SHDDC and the chairperson and secretary of Sadar Hills Women Union.

    It may be mentioned that the inquiry has been set up as per the complaints submitted to IGAR (South) by SHDDC and SHWU against two officers of 43 Assam Rifles, namely Major Ashish Dubey and Major Bhavish who had allegedly assaulted and molested women protestors of SHDDC at Gamgiphai near Motbung on August 31, 2011.
