IMPHAL, September 27: A combined team of cdo Imphal east and 23 Assam Rifles arrested one KCP (MC) cadre identified as Nameirakpam Iboshana Singh, 32, s/o N Jugin Singh of Ngairangbam from Yumnam Khunou-Sinam Kom road, stated a press release of the SP, Imphal east police.
It further maintained that one 9mm pistol loaded with five rounds in the magazine, one round of G3 rifle, three rounds of M 16 rifle and one mobile handset with one VOdaphone sim card were recovered from his possession.
Further, according to the release, on verification, Iboshana disclosed that he joined the KCP (MC) in the month of January 2011 under the command of Laishram Bimol alias Inao alias Charan of Ngairangbam.
He further disclosed that he was involved in various crimes including planting an IED at the residential gate of Thoudam Chaoba of Chinkhu, transportation of arms and ammunition and demand letters of KCP-MC (CHingkheinganba) and KCP-MC (Khaba), extortion of money from general public by serving demand letters and by giving threat calls from mobile phone, it stated.
He also disclosed that he was involved in lobbing of grenade at the residence of Khundrakpham Modhubala Devi, pradhan Khundrakpham GP in July 2011 and at the residence of an engineer at Nongmeibung in July 2011, it added.
Meanwhile, a PRO IGAR statement has stated that discovering the movement of UG cadres in the general area, Urangpat, troops of 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) launched operation in the are and apprehended two KCP (City Meitei) cadres today.
The release has identified the apprehendees as Nanorem Inaoba Singh, 30, s/o N Inaocha Singh, r/o Thamnapokpi Makha Leikai, Imphal east.
A Chinese 9mm pistol with magazine, two live rounds of 9mm and one Chinese hand grenade were recovered from the apprehendees, the release handed.
