First timer Konthoujam MLA takes a dig at Chief Minister

IMPHAL September 23: People entering politics as a business endeavour have ruined our state, lashed out K. Sharat Singh, MLA Konthoujam a/c while addressing a gathering of the 4th anniversary observation 2011 of the founding of Kangleipak Ching Tam Trade Union (KACTTU) held at Nupee Lal complex in Imphal.

K. Sharat speaking as the chief guest of the function said that the foray of business minded individuals in politics have greatly harmed the state as most of them have failed to imbibe the altruistic principle of serving the masses with selfless dedication for the benefit of the people.

He further blamed such individuals who are elected as representatives of the general public for the chaotic and tumultuous situation in the state.

The first time MLA, further attacked Chief Minister O Ibobi for allegedly making a family tour to Japan alongwith his wife O (o) Landhoni when the state was reeling under such a critical juncture.

Further describing the alleged tour as untimely, he added that it was an act of sheer irresponsibility on the part of the Chief Minister towards the welfare of the state which has exposed the incompetent nature of the Chief Minister.

He also added that it is very much unfortunate for the state that the CM who is the guardian of the masses, had left the state behind during such tumultuous times.

Further addressing the gathering, he stated that it is time for the people to realize that exchanging their votes for a few sum of money will only harm the state.

He also called upon the people to elect competent leaders as the state is in dire need of competent leaders and further appealed that with the nearing of the general election in the state, the people should be aware of their responsibility towards choosing a competent leader and contribute to elevate the state into new heights.

The anniversary observation of KACTTU was also attended by KACTTU president N. Dhaneswor and district subject specialist, deptt. of Agriculture, Ch. Gojendro Singh as president and guest of honour respectively.
