IMPHAL, Sept 14: At least five cadres of the under ground KCP (MC) were apprehended by the security forces during separate counter insurgency operations conducted in different parts of valley district since last two days.
According to a release of SP Imphal West, a team of Imphal West district police commandos apprehended one active member of KCP(MC) Tamnganba Meetei group identified as Thokchom Bheigya Singh, 24, s/o of late Th Shyamkumar Singh of Sagolband Sayang Pukhri Mapal from his locality this early morning around 4am.
The source further mentioned that, on spot verification by the police the arrested cadre disclosed to the police that, he is working under the command of one Rakesh, and he was assigned to served demand letters to various government officers businessmen etc, one demand letter was seized from his possession.
It is also mention mentioned that, the district police commando of Imphal west on follow up action able to arrested another cadre of KCP (MC) Tamnganba Meetei identified as Salam Rakesh Singh alias Tombi, 28, s/o of S Ranjit Singh of Sagolband Sayang Kuraomakhong from this residence this early morning around 4.20am the release added.
In another incident a team of Thoubal district police commandos arrested two cadres of KCP(MC) Taibanganba group identified as Thongam Romen Singh, 25, s/o of late Th Babu Singh, and Lourembam Roben Singh alias Nanao, 26, s/o L Deben Singh both residence of Wangoo Sandangkhong Mayai Leikai during search operation yesterday morning around 5am at Wangoo Sandangkhong area.
According to an official source, the police during preliminary interrogation the arrested person have revealed to the police that they were working under the command of one S/S District Commandar Khagemba and they were actively involved in anti social activities such extortion, kidnapping for ransom etc. Further they revealed to the police that they were also involved in the hurling of petrol bomb at the residence of one Sunil Singh of Ningthoukhong Kha Mamang Leikai Ward No. 7 for extortion, and the arrested person were reportedly handed over to the Kumbi Police station yesterday itself, source added.
In yet another incident, a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and personnel of 28 AR apprehended another cadre of KCP (MC) identified as Moirangthem Chaoba Singh alias James, 31, s/o M Achou Singh of Langathel Mamang Leikai from Tangjeng areas during search operation this morning around 7.45 am said a release of SP Thoubal.
