IMPHAL, Sept 13: The freshers` meet of the new students of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, was held at the Jubilee hall on Monday. All 100 freshers from some states of India and North East were present.
Prof S. Sekharjit, Director was the chief guest of the function. Prof H. Shanti, Medical Superintendent and Dr R.K.Lenin were the president and the guest of honour respectively. A number of senior teachers, students and other staff were present in the function. Welcoming the new members of the RIMS family Prof Sekharjit, Prof Shanti and Dr Lenin exhorted the freshers to study hard so that they would become worthy specialists in future.
All the freshers introduced themselves on the stage. Some of them had to display their talent in singing or dancing during the introductions. As a mark of initiation as a member of RIMS family all of them were fed cakes. The function was organised by the RIMS Students` Union.
