Jiribam police station strengthened in view of JDDC proposed agitations

IMPHAL, Sept 14: Considering the possibility of intense agitations at Jiribam sub-division in Imphal East district in the near future in connection with the demand of Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC), the state government has beefed up security measures in the sub-division by strengthening the manpower of Jiribam Police Station.

According to an official source, eight women SI on probation and five women ASI on probation along with 25 women home guard personnel of Imphal West have been deployed at Jiribam PS recently.

The source further mentioned that this initiative is also a part of the strategic security measures for the protection of transporters which the state government has chose the Imphal-Jiribam Road as the secondary route for the transportation of essentials items to the state in the wake of economic blockades imposed on the National Highway due to the demand and counter for Sadar Hills district.

In the meantime, according to an official order issued by SSP Imphal West yesterday, eight women sub-inspectors attached at Imphal West district police commando, namely  L Romola Devi,  Y Indubala Devi, G Lambilu, S Renubala Devi, A Devata Devi,  Ksh Snajaobi Devi,  Chanuleima Pangeitan, Florence N Lengen and six other women ASI attached at Imphal West district police commandos, namely L Muktasana Devi,  L Basanti Devi,  N Rosy Devi, S Maheshori Devi and ASI Aruna Sagolsem have been detailed for duty at Jiribam police station.

The official order further mentioned that the women police officers should report to RI-Reserve Line Imphal West at 7 am today and RI-Reserved Line Imphal West shall direct them to report to DIG (Range-II) Manipur at Khabiesoi to their new place of posting.
