Judiciary must ensure justice to people: Justice Sharma

IMPHAL, Sept 10: The responsibility of the judiciary is to provide assistance and support to ensure political, economic and social justice to the people.

This was stated by Supreme Court Justice Dr. MK Sharma today while inaugurating a two-day training programme at Uripok Cheirap Court.

Delivering a lecture on the topic “Case load time and stress management”, Justice Sharma stated that several thousands of cases are pending in the Supreme Court as well as other lower courts due to many reasons.

He mentioned that there is need to impart the knowledge on the right to education act and senior citizens’ rights to the common people.

The function was also attended by the advocate general N Koteshwor Singh, Guwahati High Court Justice P Nandakumar Singh, District and Session Judge Manipur East Yukon Singh, and District and Session Judge Manipur, West K Bipinchandra Sharma, Secretary Manipur Legal Sevice authority, N Guneshwor Sharma and Secretary state Law department Y Ramesh and many lawyers of the state participated in the training.
