Literacy Day

    IMPHAL, Sept 9: Observing the ‘International Literacy day,’ a series of lectures were conducted by 35 Assam Rifles  of 26 Sector  under HQ IGAR(South) at Morning Star School (Haika) and St Mary’s School (Khullen) at Sajik valley and T K Gomphai school in Singheu village. Teachers and students from the schools attended the lecture and got benefited. Highlighting the importance of literacy in today’s competitive world,   Assam Rifles officials brought out the relevance of knowledge and literacy in eradicating poverty, unemployment and the menace of insurgency. Relevant books of general knowledge and competitive exam were also distributed on the occasion.

    Similarly, 37 Assam Rifles organized an education workshop on the occasion of World Literacy Day at Tuijang and Hengshi, which included distribution of  type writer, magazines, newspapers and stationary items to villagers and lecture was delivered by  AR officials  on importance of world literacy day and standard of education in remote area. On this occasion 37 Assam Rifles has appointed 01 dedicated person as Hindi teacher schools of near by villages.
