Nara clarifies on PR promulgation in state

IMPHAL Aug 1: Secretary of CPI, Manipur State Council, Dr M Nara has clarified that the demand for the promulgation of President’s Rule in the state was the opinion expressed by the Senior Citizens for Society, Manipur and the party in the state as well as AB Bardhan, general secretary of CPI have not made the demand.

Addressing media persons at Irawat Bhawan today, Nara elaborated that state executive of CPI Manipuri held on August 24 had resolved him to depute to party head quarter in Delhi to raise the prevailing issue relating to the demand of Sadar Hills District by the party MPs in the Parliament.

He stated that the CPI MPs could not raise the issue owing to complexities arising in the parliament from the issues of Anna Hazare.

Later during the conference, while responding to a query from the media persons asserted that CPI Manipur endorsed the government stand regarding the demand of SHDDC and appealed that economic blockade should be relax on humanity ground citing government’s statement finding a viable solution within three months stipulated time.
