IMPHAL September 23: The Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has lauded the initiative to be taken up by the state government to initiate proper security arrangement along the NH 53 stretch to procure essential items for distribution to the public at reasonable rates.
It said that the public have gone through similar hardships in the past and no proper course of action has been put into practical effect by the state government.
After the issue is concluded the proposed idea is put into cold storage.
At present the inability of the government to tackle the issue and remaining as a mute spectator shows that the ruling government lacks credence, it has not been able to provide a long term solution.
The drivers who at high risk are transporting the essential supplies and must keep up the work and it is applauded by the public, but the businessmen also need to show sensitiveness to the issue and not just look for meager profits.
