IMPHAL Sept 8: Condemning the bomb attack at the residence of MPCC secretary Jyotin Waikhom yesterday, a sit in protest was held today at Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai.
The protest was observed by the members of Thangmeiband Block Congress Committee along with the meira paibis and residents of Thangmeiband.
Jyotin told IFP that no threat or monetary demand has been imposed on him from any underground outfit. “I suspect some political rivalry hand behind this, he said.
Jyotin contested the previous general election from the Congress Party and is making preparations to contest in the upcoming assembly election from the Congress ticket again.
The meira paibis and the workers demanded that the organizations concerned should clarify on the attack within a week.
Meanwhile, the residents of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai staged a sit-in-protest today against the bomb attack at the residence of RK Gouramangol of Khurai Shingangbam Leikai Tinsid Road carried out some by unidentified armed men by firing lathode bomb on the evening of September 6.
