Public hypnotised by purported social workers: minister Ranjit

IMPHAL, Sept 4:  The ignorant people of the state have been hypnotised by some purported social workers who try to garner political support by distributing certain essential commodities such as rice and sugar.

This was stated by works minister K Ranjit during one-day conference cum 2nd general body meeting held today at Majharul Uloom, Bengoon, Mayang Imphal.

He further asserted that the purported social workers have misguided the people thereby leading to serious downfall in the social and political systems in the state.

The Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government has taken up many development works in the state during its tenure which is due to complete 10 years next year, Ranjit noted.

He further stated Rs. eight crores have been sanctioned for the development of Mayang Imphal to Hiyangthang Road and it will be implemented in due course of time.

Works minister also appealed to the people to support the Congress Party in the coming state assembly election.

The conference was also attended by MLA Dr Kh Ratankumar, Bijoy Koijam, deputy chairman of Manipur State Planning Board, N Nilamani, president Imphal West DCC and Th Rajmuhon Meitei, president MIBCC.
