Security meeting on election security

IMPHAL, Sept 21: A preliminary round of security meeting related to the ensuing general election in the state which is likely to be held by early next year was convened today under the chairmanship of the state chief election officer PC Lawmkunga, IAS, at the conference hall of Old secretariat Imphal.

According to an official source the meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners, and Superintendent of police of all districts of the state and assessed the security manpower which will be required for the smooth and successful conduct of the ensuing general election of the state.

The source further mentioned that, all concerned district administrators present during the meeting reportedly tabled actual security strength which are being deployed in their respective district so as to enable the state election department for making preparations of security arrangement from the state forces for the ensuing general election in the state, added the source.
