Six militants lay down arms before DG BSF

Surrendered militants along with BSF officials during a surrender ceremony held at Bishnupur.
IMPHAL, Sept 1: Six cadres belonging to different underground organizations laid down arms before DG BSF (East) in a ceremony held at 116 Bn BSF Lotak Project in Bishnupur district this afternoon.

The six militants include four cadres of UNLF, one cadre of KYKL and one cadre of NSCN (K) surrendered before V.N. Rai, Special DG BSF (East) in presence of J.C. Pandey, IG Ftr HQ, BSF Mizoram & Chasar.

The surrenderees have been identified as s/s Sgt Maj.  Lian Khosiam alias Siam Boi, S/s Sgt Maj Promolin alias Papao , S/s and Sgt Maj.  N. Gul Khochon alias Ngamsei of Churachandpur dist., and S/s Pvt. Soubam Somen alias Ningaidaba of Heinoulok, Imphal West district, cadres of proscribed banned UNLF, S/s L/Cpl. Laisram Akang Singh alias Abungcha of Imphal east, KYKL (O)  and S/s Sgt. Digai alias David of Tamenglong district , NSCN(K).

One .303 Rifle along with a Magazine, 3 nos. of 9mm pistol including with its magazines, 2 nos. Chinese made hand grenade, 1 no. Radio set and 15 live ammunitions were handed over to the DG BSF during the surrender ceremony.

Welcoming the surrenderees for joining the main stream society, V.N. Rai, assured the families of the surrenderees that BSF will arrange all benefits to them as per the policy laid down by the Central and the state government.
