State employees to go on cease-work strike again

IMPHAL, Sept 29: The state government employees including teachers will launch indefinite cease-work strike from the mid-week of October if the government fails to take up the right course of action as per the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed earlier with regard to the implementation of 6th revised pay.

A release of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of AMGEO and AMTUC mentioned that the general body of the JAC, Manipur

Secretariat Services Association and Manipur Pensioners’ Union convened today at Kuki Inn has resolved to launch indefinite cease-work strike from October 14 against the failure of the state government to implement the 6th revised pay scale in toto.

It further stated that the strike has been extended till October 14 in view of the present imbroglio that has caused much suffering to the people.

Another release issued by the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) stated that the government school teachers are prepared to launch stern agitations if the 6th revised pay scale is not implemented by the state government on or before October 6.

The government has not issued any order despite of firm assurance given to the teachers earlier, it added.
